Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Thursday, charged political appointees and public officials to be guided by the principles of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in their official duties.
The Governor delivered the address during the opening of a three-day Leadership Retreat and Ministerial Briefing organized for commissioners, special advisers, and directors-general of government agencies and parastatals in the state.
The retreat, themed “The Advance New Direction for Continuity and Consolidation of Strategic Development,” is designed to enhance the skills of political appointees for result-oriented performance and productivity.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr. Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, Governor Ododo emphasized that the retreat represents a collective commitment to Kogi’s development.
Ododo further explained that his administration’s focus on productivity and infrastructure aims to lay a solid foundation for the state’s total transformation.
“Our collective efforts must focus on shaping the state for greater achievements,” Ododo stated. “This is the reason I appointed capable hands who will help move the state to the next level of development.”
He added, “The retreat will undoubtedly enhance the leadership and ministerial capabilities of its participants, fostering collaboration for sustained progress and growth.”
Ododo urged appointees to take full advantage of the training to contribute meaningfully to Kogi’s accelerated development.
“I am pleased to report that this administration has made significant strides in advancing agriculture, education, and the economy, as well as improving human development and basic infrastructure, all of which are positively impacting the lives of our citizens,” he concluded.
