The Lagos State House of Assembly has impeached its Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, following multiple allegations of fraud.
Sources within the Assembly confirmed that Obasa was removed during a plenary session on Monday. However, full details surrounding the impeachment remain unclear at this time.
Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda has been appointed as the new Speaker, replacing Obasa.
Efforts to reach Obasa’s Chief Press Secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, for comments have been unsuccessful, as he has not responded to calls or text messages regarding the situation.
