The FCT Minister Barr Nysome Wike on Tuesday fulfilled President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promise of rural infrastructural development in
rural settlements, as he commissioned the 11 kilometers Yangoji-Sukuku- Ebo road in Kwali Area Council.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Wike told the teeming population of residents which had grouped out to cheer him that the President had promised to give them whatever they asked for.

While responding to the people’s cheers and obvious appreciation, Wike asked,
Kwali people, are you happy? Yes!!
Are you happy with Mr. President? Yes!!
You are happy with, Mr. President? Yes. , they chorused.
He said, “Mr. President said anything you want, if you ask me, we will do it for you.”
Speaking further, Wike said that the Kwali is the first community with road and light infrastructure.

He said,”This is promise made, promise fulfilled. And you can see, you are the first community, where we are doing road and putting streetlights.”

The FCT Minister also approved a new bridge in Kwali in appreciation for the support by the Chairman of Kwali Area
Council Hon. Danladi Chiya and his people.

“Mr. ALGON Chairman because you have led your people well because you have supported this administration because your people are happy with you. Let me tell you, that bridge will soon be done”, he declared.

The FCT Minister reiterated the commitment of the Tinubu led government for the people oriented development, but he called to exercise patient.

” Therefore, all we urge you to do is just to be patient. If you are patient, at the end of the day, we will benefit from this administration” Wike appealed to the citizens.

He appreciated the work done by Gilmor Construction and urged other companies to emulate the social responsibility gesture by the contractor.

The FCT Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud, noted that the road will enhance accessibility, foster economic growth, and strengthen the social fabric of the community.

Mahmoud said, “This 11km, Yangoji – Ebo Road in Kwali Area Council may seem like a modest undertaking, but its impact will be far-reaching.”
” It will enhance connectivity, reduce the challenges of insecurity, and open up opportunities for trade and commerce. ”
“It will also improve access to education and healthcare, empowering our rural population to lead healthier and more prosperous lives.”

According to her, investing in rural infrastructure is not just a matter of economic development; it is a fundamental step towards building inclusive, resilient, and sustainable communities. By prioritizing the needs of rural areas and ensuring equitable access to road infrastructure, we can unlock their full potential and pave the way for a brighter future for all.”
