Wunmi Aloba, the widow of late singer Mohbad, has expressed frustration over the continued delay in her husband’s burial, accusing her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of unnecessarily prolonging the process.
In an emotional interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Wunmi revealed that the extended embalmment of Mohbad’s body has been heartbreaking. She criticized his father for allegedly obstructing the burial despite public calls for closure.
“It still feels like he is alive because he is in Yaba morgue. It’s heartbreaking that he hasn’t been buried and has been cut twice. There’s no valid reason for the delay, but my father-in-law keeps manipulating the public,” she said.
Wunmi also spoke about Mohbad’s deep love for their son, Liam, sharing that the singer had tattooed his son’s name even before his birth.
“If the dead could see, my husband would cry gallons of tears… He loved Liam so much that he tattooed his name before he was even born. Liam was his source of happiness. If you wanted to see his best side, just carry Liam,” she recalled.
She expressed disbelief that Mohbad’s father, whom the late singer loved and respected, would be the one preventing his burial.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died under controversial circumstances in September 2023, sparking public outcry and demands for justice. However, with his body still unburied nearly two years later, tensions between Wunmi and her father-in-law continue to escalate.
