Dr. Samuel Kolawole Oredipe, Vice-Chairman of the Bayelsa State Athletics Association, has been appointed Auditor of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), signaling his growing influence in the nation’s sports administration.

AFN President Chief Tonobok Okowa, recently re-elected for a second term, announced Oredipe’s appointment in Abuja following his swearing-in ceremony.

Okowa highlighted Oredipe’s role as a key step toward ensuring financial transparency within the federation.

A former middle-distance athlete and founder of Samkay Athletics Club, Oredipe brings a wealth of experience to the board.

He previously ran for the South-South Zonal Representative position during the AFN elections in Benin City, Edo State.

Currently, he holds the position of Assistant Director of News at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria while also serving as Director-General of New Media for the Bayelsa State Governor.

Other notable appointments to the AFN board include Dr. Nneka Nkem Anibieze as Chief Operating Officer, Barrister Bamidele Edokpaye as Legal Adviser, and Mr. Babajide Odedeji as Safeguarding Officer.

Okowa praised the new board members, emphasizing their collective commitment to advancing Nigerian athletics through integrity and excellence.
