Oborevwori Commends NYSC Members in Delta for Resilience and Dedication

By Anne Azuka, Issele-Uku

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has commended members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the state for their resilience, commitment, and sense of duty displayed throughout their stay at the orientation camp.

The governor gave the commendation on Tuesday during the official terminal parade and closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state.

Represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. Trakiriowei Harry ThankGod, Governor Oborevwori urged employers of corps members to continue supporting them to settle into their new environments. He advised organisations and communities to treat the corps members as integral members rather than outsiders.

According to him, the talents, energy, and contributions of corps members remain vital to the growth of establishments and the overall progress of the state.

“I am confident that you fully engaged in the carefully structured activities of the past three weeks and have adapted to the discipline of camp life,” the governor said.

He reminded the corps members that the world they are entering has evolved beyond the era when a university degree alone guaranteed employment, stressing that today’s society demands adaptability, creativity, and innovation.

“The nation needs young men and women who can think outside the box, turn challenges into opportunities, and transform ideas into tangible results,” he stated, urging them to face life’s obstacles with courage and determination.

Declaring the orientation course closed, Governor Oborevwori advised corps members to minimize unnecessary travel and embark on journeys only with proper approval.

Earlier, the **NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr. John Kwaghe**, commended the corps members for their exemplary conduct, discipline, and resilience throughout the three-week exercise.

Kwaghe noted that their comportment reflected the finest ideals of the NYSC, describing them as ambassadors of integrity and loyalty.

“Through various lectures and engagements on security awareness, national integration, cultural tolerance, teaching methodologies, and financial literacy, you have been adequately prepared to make meaningful contributions at your places of primary assignment,” he said.

The coordinator also expressed appreciation to Governor Oborevwori for his consistent support and commitment to improving infrastructure at the NYSC orientation camp.
