Kano PCC Vows Free Justice for All, Extends Services to Remote Communities

By Jabiru Hassan

The Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) in Kano, Hon. Ibrahim Zakari Sarina, has assured residents of both urban and rural communities that the commission is committed to resolving disputes at no cost.

Speaking after a rally in Kano to mark the commission’s golden jubilee, Sarina urged members of the public to channel their complaints through the PCC for peaceful settlement. He stressed that the commission was established 50 years ago to give Nigerians free access to justice.

“Our services are free, and we resolve any type of misunderstanding without charging a single kobo. That was the vision of the commission’s founding fathers, and it remains our mission today,” Sarina said.

The commissioner revealed that since assuming office, the Kano PCC has received 4,652 complaints and successfully resolved 767 cases, which he described as a significant achievement given the rising number of disputes in the state.

He announced that the commission will intensify public enlightenment campaigns in remote settlements to ensure rural dwellers also benefit from its services.

“The Public Complaints Commission is working selflessly to promote peace and unity among citizens through mediation and mutual understanding. The achievements recorded within this short time are a testimony to the commission’s relevance,” he added.

Sarina also called on journalists and social media platforms to support the PCC’s work by educating citizens about its role. He described the media as “pillars of development and partners in progress.”
