Arsenal stormed into the FA Cup fifth round for the first time in six years with a commanding 4–0 victory over Wigan Athletic at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s side wrapped up the contest inside the opening 27 minutes of the fourth-round clash. Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli struck early before Jack Hunt turned Bukayo Saka’s cross into his own net. Gabriel Jesus added the fourth with a composed chip.
The Gunners are back in the last 16 for the first time since lifting the trophy in 2020 — still the only major silverware of Arteta’s tenure. Sitting four points clear at the top of the Premier League, into the League Cup final against Manchester City and through to the Champions League last 16, Arsenal remain in contention for a remarkable quadruple.
Riccardo Calafiori was injured in the warm-up, prompting Arteta to recall Saka. Eberechi Eze justified his selection with two assists, setting up Madueke and Martinelli in a dominant first-half display.
