The Director-General of the Tinubu Support Groups (TSG), Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, has welcomed the defection of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as a step in the right direction for Kano State and Nigeria at large.
In a statement, Yakasai said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda continues to gain nationwide support, reflecting growing public confidence in the administration’s policies and leadership.
He noted that governing a diverse country like Nigeria comes with challenges but expressed confidence that the president is steering the nation toward greater progress through inclusive and democratic processes.Commenting on Governor Yusuf’s defection, Yakasai described him as a progressive leader committed to development and service delivery in Kano State.
He urged residents to support the governor’s administration in implementing programmes and projects aimed at improving both rural and urban communities.
The TSG Director-General also commended Vice President Kashim Shettima and former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for their roles in strengthening the party’s presence in Kano State.
Yakasai congratulated Governor Yusuf on his decision to join the APC, expressing optimism that the move would further consolidate political stability and development in the state.
