Paris Saint-Germain F.C. Ordered to Pay Kylian Mbappé €61m After Court Ruling

French champions Paris Saint-Germain will pay Kylian Mbappé €61 million in unpaid wages and bonuses following a ruling by a Paris labour court, bringing an end to a protracted contractual dispute between the player and the club.

The court determined that PSG owed the France international outstanding salary and loyalty bonuses covering the final months of his contract. The sum includes withheld wages and other agreed financial entitlements.

PSG confirmed it will not appeal the decision, stating that accepting the ruling allows both parties to finally close a dispute that had lingered for months.

How the Dispute Began

The disagreement dates back to the 2023–24 season, when Mbappé announced he would not extend his contract beyond June 2024. His decision reportedly strained relations with the club and briefly resulted in his exclusion from first-team activities.

Although he later returned to the squad and featured regularly throughout the campaign, tensions over contractual payments persisted, ultimately leading to legal action.

Departure to Spain

The court’s verdict now formally compels PSG to settle the outstanding €61m. Mbappé departed the Paris club in 2024 on a free transfer to Real Madrid C.F., closing a significant chapter in PSG’s recent history and beginning a new era in Spain.

The ruling provides finality to one of the most high-profile contractual sagas in European football.
