The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has vowed to ensure that the commission prioritizes and ensures that Christian pilgrimage exercises are exemplary while creating a lasting impact on the lives of pilgrims.
Bishop Adegbite made this vow on Wednesday, 15th April, 2026, during the commission’s maiden one-day training workshop for information officers and admin officers of the State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards, held at the NCPC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
The NCPC boss noted that under his leadership, the commission has adopted a new corporate slogan: Service and Satisfaction. “We believe that rendering excellent services to our pilgrims and stakeholders must not be compromised, and we expect everyone to be satisfied with our services,” he said.
He affirmed that the theme of the workshop, Strengthening Information Management for Effective Pilgrimage Administration, resonates deeply with the commission’s determination to ensure excellent service delivery to pilgrims.
Bishop Adegbite explained that the training was designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. He urged them to be intentional about their work, deliberate in their actions, and always prioritize the needs of pilgrims.
“Strive to make a difference in the lives of pilgrims. Make your mark in the world of pilgrimage administration,” he charged.
He also announced that the workshop has now been institutionalized as an annual training programme.
Earlier , the Director of Media and Public Relations, Mr. Celestine Toruka, stated that the workshop underscores the Commission’s commitment to excellence and pilgrim satisfaction.
Mr. Toruka affirmed that the NCPC, as the only National Regulatory Body on Christian Pilgrimage, is leveraging the training to enhance its regulatory framework through capacity building.
He noted the nexus between information officers and admin officers, as both engage in internal and external communication.
He thanked the Executive Secretary for approving the maiden workshop and making it an annual event.
Papers were presented on key topics, including The Imperatives of Effective Pilgrimage Operations, The Role of Information Administrators in Pilgrimage Administration, Crisis Management in Pilgrimage, and Communication Technologies for Effective Pilgrimage Support.
