Gunmen Attack Police Base in Kwara, Kill Three Officers

At least three police officers have been killed and two others injured following an attack on a Police Mobile Force (PMF) camp in Tenebo community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, according to local sources, who said armed assailants stormed the facility in large numbers and engaged officers on duty. Residents reported hearing sustained gunfire, which triggered panic and forced many to flee their homes.

A resident, Suleiman Issa, said the attack happened around midnight and affected both security personnel and the surrounding community.

The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the incident. Spokesperson Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi said further details would be provided as investigations progress.

The latest attack adds to a series of security incidents in Kaiama Local Government Area, where armed groups have targeted communities and security formations in recent months. Previous incidents in nearby areas have involved fatalities among security personnel and local vigilantes, as well as damage to facilities.

Authorities have yet to provide a full account of the latest incident, while residents continue to express concern over safety in affected communities.
