Oranmiyan Group Condemns OBJ Over Statement.

By Richard Akintade, Osogbo

The recent statement by the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo liking the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari with that of late General Sanni Abacha in his letter has been condemned in totality.

The Oranmiyan Group in Osun State made this condemnation on Tuesday while speaking at the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Osogbo, the State capital, during a courtesy visit of the new executives of the group.

The Director General of the group, Mr. Olajide Sadiq, said President Buhari has not done anything undemocratic since his assumption saying that, Obasanjo should not be taken with his utterances because of his failure to stand by his earlier statement made on the PDP’s Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The DG said ex-President Obasanjo has only expressed his freedom of speech as guaranteed in the Constitution of Nigeria, and he is entitled to his opinion as a Nigerian.

He recalled that the same Obasanjo that said that God should punish him if he support Atiku, is now supporting him, forgetting that he has cursed himself.

The group also assured that Governor Gboyega Oyetola will perform well “even better than the former Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.

He noted that Aregbesola’s administration has improved security of the state that residence can now sleep with two eyes closed and their doors open.

The group however called for the support of the media to the administration of Oyetola by reporting him accurately.
