Tragedy as Abducted ABU staff dies in Captivity

A female staff of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, kidnapped by bandits has reportedly died in captivity.

The man sent to deliver ransom to her abductors also reportedly kidnapped and is currently unconscious state of healthy in Zaria, according to eyewitness.

The deceased Mrs Monica Ogboje, attached to colleges of agric was allegedly kidnapped by bandits between jaji and Zaria expressway on her way back from village to Zaria.

Eyewitness sources said the bandits earlier demanded for N15million but later came down to N500, 000 when the husband could not meet their initial demand a long while.

It was gathered that the woman died after man sent to deliver the ransom was kidnapped and another N500,000 ransom paid to release the duo from captivity..

A family source said the body of the deceased has arrived her home town in Benue state for burial rites on Saturday.

Contacted, Kaduna state police command spokesman, Mohammed Jalige who promised to find out and get back to journalist, never did until the time of filling this reports.
