Protest: Police Block APC National Secretariat

By Williams Anuku Abuja

Truck loads of policemen have taken over the National Secretariat of the Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) located at Blantyre Street,Wuse 2 ,Abuja as rumours persist of impending massive protest by stakeholders of the party.

Recall that various APC groups especially in Osun state have risen recently in condemnation of the Ward Congress held in the state , accusing the Governor of using proxies to procure over 18,000 forms.

In Kwara, Imo, and Rivers stakeholders have also disputed the outcome of the Ward Congresses .

The police who stormed the party in over five Hillux Patrol Vans took over the party secretariat, and strategic position around the Secretariat area.

Although motorists that ply the street and other road users were not allowed to go about their businesses, the battle ready policemen did not allow any vehicle park around the vicinity of the APC headquarters.

A staff who pleaded anonymity hinted that the action of the police may not be unconnected with the protest allegedly planned by some aggrieved party stakeholders from some of the states.
