As the fuel scarcity persist coupled with unwholesome hoarding practices by the stations operators, the kogi Commandant of the NSCDC, Suleiman Mafara has deployed men of the anti vandal unit of the corps to stations across kogi state to bring sanity to sales and distribution of petroleum products .
Speaking with our correspondent on Friday in Lokoja, Mafara, said the deployment was in line with the Commandant-General’s directives, to ensure normalcy in the pump price of petrol and prevent sales of adulterated petroleum products to unsuspecting motorists.
He said, to enforce compliance , men of the anti vandal unit has been mobilised and deployed to major filling stations in Lokoja metropolis and other main cities across the state.
The commandant added that reports from the field shows significant compliance by the operators, stressing that, his men were able to prevent sales in jerry cans, extortion and dispensing above regulated prices.
He however called on the public to give his men maximum support to ensure that they receive value for their money even in the face of scarcity.
Some of the stations covered by the officers in Lokoja metropolis include, Nipco at Lokongoma, AYM Shafa, AA.Rano, and Total stations on Ganaja intersection roads.
