Armed forces remembrance gov Ishaku pays tribute to fallen heros.

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has saluted the courage of patriotic, pride and sacrifice of the Nigerian Armed forces and legion towards service to father land.

Ishaku who was speaking during the Armed Forces Rememberance day in Jalingo, said the sacrifices of the falling heroes shall not be in vain.

The Governor, noted that the Nigerian Armed forces have distinguished themselves in maintaining peace in Sierre Leon, Liberia and their glaring efforts to ending Insurgency in the Northeast despite daunting challenges.

He promised to sponsor Christian and Muslim legion to the holy land and as well as supporting them with a bus for their day to day activities and renovate their office.

Commenting, Chairman Nigerian Legion Taraba State Chapter Saidu Muhammad pleaded to Governor Darius to provide them with logistics that will help solve other teething problems like renovation of their office and furnishing, sponsorship to holy land and the provision of vehicle among others.

Saidu assured the Governor of their total support during the upcoming gubernatorial election.

Our correspondent report that the ceremony featured colourful parade by Men of the Nigerian Army Serti Baruwa and Takum, released of pidgeon special prayers and laying of wreath by Governor Darius Ishaku, Deputy Governor Haruna Manu, Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly Abel Peter Diah and State Chief Judge Josephine Tuktur .

Others are Commissioner of Police David Akinremi, Commanding Officers of the twenty Mechanised Battalion Nigeria Army serti Baruwa and Takum including Chairman of the Nigerian Legion Taraba State Chapter and a widow Lami Ayuba.

Laying of wreath ceremony is a usual ritual during the Nigerian Armed Forces Day Celebration dating back to the seventeenth century in honour of of all falling heroes and the loved ones they left behind.
