Atalanta May Block Ademola Lookman’s Exit Following Gianluca Scamacca Injury

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Italian Serie A club Atalanta might prevent Ademola Lookman from leaving this summer due to a recent setback. Lookman, who has impressed since joining Atalanta two seasons ago, had attracted interest from top European clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea.

Atalanta had previously set a €70 million price tag on the 26-year-old forward, signaling a potential departure. However, the situation has changed following an injury to Gianluca Scamacca, Atalanta’s main striker, who sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury during a friendly against Parma. Scamacca is expected to be sidelined for at least six months.

This injury poses a significant challenge for Atalanta, who are preparing for a UEFA Champions League campaign next season. As a result, the club may be reluctant to part with any attacking options unless they secure a replacement. Unless Atalanta acquires a new forward, Lookman’s exit is now unlikely.
