Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman set a new personal record in Serie A after scoring in their 3-2 loss to Como on Tuesday. Lookman, who was a surprise omission from the starting lineup, came off the bench in the second half to replace Mateo Retegui.
Atalanta had a tough time recovering from an early lead, as Como’s Gabriel Strefezza, Sead Kolasinac (own goal), and Alieu Fadera extended the advantage to 3-1. However, in the ninth minute of stoppage time, Lookman converted a penalty to narrow the deficit.
According to Atalanta’s official website, this goal marked a career milestone for Lookman, making it the first time he has scored in four consecutive Serie A matches. He netted in the last two games of the 2023-2024 season against Torino and Fiorentina and continued his streak with goals against Fiorentina and Como in the new season.
Lookman has now contributed directly to six goals (four goals, two assists) in his last four Serie A appearances, surpassing his previous record from earlier in the 2023-2024 campaign.
