From Abba Kabara, Gusau.

President Buhari has expressed deep concern over the lingering internal misunderstanding in the struggle for leadership in Zamfara state.

Buhari who expressed the concern today during his campaign tour to the state, said he is particularly worried when the misunderstanding erupts with members of the same family.

He reiterated his firm policy of abiding by the rule of law and due process, explaining that he is not in a position to force any body to disobey the law.

Buhari reminded the welcoming crowd of supporters that he will ensure strict adherence to the rule of law which according to him, is the sure option to sanitize the polity and the economy.

He said since the case is before the court, “there is need to exercise some patience to wait for the legal decision”, but expressed hope that before the date of the elections, the issue will be resolved so that “people will be given the right to chose candidates who will represent them” he stressed.

President Buhari also reminds Nigerians that when he assumed office, he came to with three agenda one of which is the issue of security.

“Every one of us can justifiably testify that the wave of Boko Haram scourge in the North-East is almost gone as it is reduced to the minimal level compared to what the case was before we came in” he said.

He gave assurance that when he scales through for the second term, he will ensure that, even just as “we notice that there evident foreign hands in the issue of our nation’s insecurity, do everything possible to wipe out the menace of insecurity from the country”.

Buhari said the other important element in his agenda is fighting corruption which “my administration will never succumb to any pressure or intimidation to distract us from our mission”, he affirms, explaining that all the fund accrued from the looters will be used to upgrade the welfare of citizens.

Earlier in his address, governor Yari expressed worry over the refusal of INEC to accept lists of candidates from Zamfara, even as the high court has cleared the case of primary election and ordered for the acceptance of the lists.

He said as law abiding institution loyal to the party, “we will remain patient untill the decision of the court is reached”, he said.

He however maintains that the immense achievements in terms of physical and social development should serve as a factor for evaluating his performance.
