Atletico Madrid’s head coach, Diego Simeone, has extended his contract with the Spanish club, securing his position until 2027. Simeone, who took charge in December 2011, has been pivotal in Atletico’s success, holding the record for coaching the most games in the club’s history—642 matches.

Under Simeone’s leadership, Atletico Madrid has achieved significant accomplishments, winning eight trophies, including two Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, two Europa League trophies, two European Super Cups, and one Spanish Super Cup. The team reached the Champions League finals in 2014 and 2016. With an impressive track record of 380 victories out of 642 matches, Simeone has maintained a defeat rate of only 18 percent. Presently, Atletico Madrid holds the fourth position in the Liga table.

Fede Valverde Extends Real Madrid Contract with Record Release Clause

In a parallel development, Fede Valverde, the 25-year-old Ukrainian midfielder, has prolonged his contract with Real Madrid until June 30, 2029, accompanied by a remarkable one billion euros release clause. Valverde, who joined Real Madrid from Peñarol in 2016, progressed from the club’s academy, RM Castilla.

Since joining the senior team in 2018, Valverde has contributed significantly, scoring 19 goals and providing 18 assists in 220 games across all competitions. His achievements include a UEFA Champions League title, two FIFA Club World Cups, two La Liga trophies, two UEFA Super Cups, one Spanish Cup, and two Spanish Super Cups.

Real Madrid announced the contract extension, highlighting Valverde’s rapid ascent to becoming one of the premier central midfielders globally. Valverde’s renewal follows a trend at Real Madrid, with Eduardo Camavinga, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo also recently extending their contracts, each featuring a one billion euro release clause.
