GOVERNOR ZULUM DECLARES OPEN NORTHEAST SPORTS ELIMINATION SERIES IN BORNO

Governor Babagana Umara ZULUM, Wednesday,declared open the North East zonal sports elimination series,with a friendly football match,between Borno and Yobe states, which ended 2-1 in favor of host Borno state. 
Prof. Babagana umara Zulum,represented by  Chief of staff  government house, Dr Babagana WAKIL,kicked-off  the  event at  the El-kanemi warriors sports centre amidst crowd of spectators and participating states.
The Governor assured the sports men and women that government will support them all,in their respective choosen sports. 
He commended the relative peace being enjoyed in MAIDUGURI the state capital,without which,the hosting of this game would have been impossible in the first place. 
The Governor in company of commissioner,Youth  Empowerment and Sports, Sainna Buba, Permanent Secretaries,sports  administrator and top goverments functionaries,went round the sports centre to see the renovation works being carried out especially on the Basketball, Volleyball,and Handball courts as well as conveniences constructed.
Our man reported that,matches will continue  in Handball, Basketball,  Hockey,Volleyball, and football  in both male and female categories. 
Other matches  will take place at the legacy housing estate and thatteams that qualify, will represent their respective states in the forth coming 2020 National Sports Festival in Edo state.Ends.
