Kim Oprah Reveals Humble Beginnings: From Selling Pure Water to Big Brother Naija

By Daniel Edu

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Opara Chinonso Ibinabo, popularly known as Kim Oprah, opened up about her humble beginnings during an interview on the Tea With Tay podcast. The reality TV star shared details about her past struggles, highlighting how she sold sachet water and recharge cards as part of her journey.

Kim Oprah reflected on her childhood experiences, revealing that she had to live in Abuja barracks after her father’s passing. During her university days at the University of Port Harcourt, she and her sister engaged in selling pure water, recharge cards, and eggs in their vicinity, acting as a makeshift kiosk for their community.

Despite the challenges she faced, Kim Oprah expressed gratitude for going through such situations, emphasizing that it played a crucial role in shaping her character and making her resilient. She acknowledged the value of understanding both worlds – the struggles and the successes – and how it contributed to her personal growth.

In her own words, “Honestly, I’m just happy that I went through it because it really shaped me and made me stronger. I know what the hustle is, I have seen suffering. So coming out on the other side and being this person is like I understand both worlds.”
