Nasarawa youth makes five demands, push for more inclusion in governance

Celebrating the national youth day approved by president Mohammad Buhari, coalition of Youth in Nasarawa have made five demands, and are pushing for more inclusion of youth in the policies and programmes of Nasarawa state.
This was disclosed in a communique issued by the coalition of youth in the state presented by the chairman of National youth Council of Nigeria Mr Idris Ojoko today in the office of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.

Idris said the youth are the future leaders  of tomorrow and deserve more support  from the government, adding that the celebration started on the first of October with prayers both in the church and mosque and visited the correctional centre to assist inmates with food stuff and other basic amenities.
He however, stated that they are in the deputy governors office to make a demand of what the Nasarawa youth want.
Reading out the demands from the communique, the chairman said a bill to establishing youth development commission to be pass into law, continued engagement of youth in governance at least quarterly, adequate budgetary to youth affairs, appropriate approval of youth summit to deliberate on issues concerning the youth and resources and gratifications meant for the youth should be utilized adequately for the youth.
On his part, the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa state, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, representing the governor, engr. Abdullahi sule said the state government is proud of the youth in the state especially their conduct during the end SARS protest. 
He also re emphasise on the fact that the state belongs to the youth and urged them to come with policies and programmes that will challenge  the government to do the right thing. 
He however, appreciated the youth for celebrating youth day, directing the leadership of all the heads of the youth wings in the state to select one person to be included in the Covid19 task force in the state.
Earlier, the senior special assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule, on youth affairs, Hon. Yakubu Kwanta  introduced the various youth movement to the deputy governor saying the youth are here to make certain demands that will promote the image of the state.
He also appreciated the youth for making their demands known to government and pledged to do anything within his power to ensure that some of their demands are met.
