Nigeria national football team have been drawn in Group L of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they will face Madagascar, co-hosts Tanzania and Guinea-Bissau for a place at the tournament.
The draw was held on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association in Cairo, with former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong serving as one of the draw assistants.
A total of 48 teams were drawn into 12 groups, with 24 nations set to qualify for the tournament, which will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027.
Nigeria, drawn from Pot 1, were handed what appears to be a favourable group. However, with Tanzania already guaranteed qualification as co-hosts, only the top team in Group L will secure an automatic place at the finals.
Elsewhere, defending champions Côte d’Ivoire were drawn in Group C alongside Ghana, while Senegal, winners of the 2025 edition, will compete in Group J.
The qualifying campaign will begin in September 2026, with the final round of matches scheduled for March 2027.
