Victor Osimhen Upset Despite Brace in Galatasaray Win Over Tottenham

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker on loan at Galatasaray, was left frustrated with his performance despite scoring twice in a 3-2 victory against Tottenham Hotspur. The Nigerian forward, assisted twice by former Napoli teammate Dries Mertens, admitted he was disappointed not to have netted more goals in the UEFA Europa League clash.

Reflecting on the match, Osimhen praised Tottenham’s skillful play, acknowledging their strength in ball possession and offensive tactics. “It was a tough game, but we deserved the win because we played well and were decisive in the final third,” he told CBS Sports Golazo.

Known for his explosive play style, Osimhen felt he missed crucial chances to secure a higher scoreline. “I could have scored four. I lost focus with some chances and was really angry with myself,” he stated, adding that he would review footage to improve in future matches.

With Galatasaray currently third in their Europa League group, Osimhen remains hopeful, eyeing a strong campaign despite formidable competition from teams like Ajax and Lazio.
