In their efforts to maintain the cordial relationship between the Factory and host communities, BUA Cement undertook to construct Primary school blocks, clinics, boreholes with overhead tanks, award of scholarships and provision of reading materials to students within and outside the host communities.
While at Gidan Gamba to commission one of the 10,000 gallons water projects, the Managing Director of the Factory, Engineer Yusuf Haliru Binji said the two boreholes were at Gidan Gamba while electrification projects are at Sokoto Specialist Hospital and Gwanda Cheguwa and Ruggar Waru in Wamakko local government.
Represented by the Corporate Affairs Manager, Alhaji Sada Suleiman, the Managing Director further said the water projects can be found in Girabshi and Gidan Gamba also in Wamakko local government where the Factory is situated.
He added that the transformers at the Specialist Hospital and other communities are of 500 and 300 kva respectively saying the five projects commissioned today gulfed about N62m.
Commissioning the projects, Wamakko local government council Chairman Alhaji Bello Haliru commended the management of the Factory for the efforts adding that he had witnessed several projects executed by the Factory.
“Last year alone, we have received numerous social projects from the Factory and to my own belief, these would nod not be the end considering the love they have for the host communities,” averred Gwiwa.
Also at the brief ceremony, the District Head of Kalambaina, Alhaji Abubakar Kalambaina and Ajiyan Kanrogo Alhaji Ahmad Bello similarly commended the management of the Factory and promised to maintain the projects accordingly.
