Apex Ibibio Group, MMI to honour Founding Fathers

The Executive Council of apex Ibibio youth group, the Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, MMI, has concluded plans to honour it’s founding fathers in a line up of activities to commemorate her 35th Founders’ Day Ceremony.

A statement from its Public Relations Officer, Akparawa-nwan Agnes Okure on behalf of the International President indicate that the organization, founded on 1st of August, 1987 would commence the event with a Thanksgiving Service this Sunday.

The statement made available to newsmen in Uyo yesterday said the Thanksgiving Service would be followed by the induction of new members at it’s International Secretariat same day.

Some founding members and the leadership of the 11th International Executive Council would on Monday be guests on select radio and television stations in the State to update members of the public on its activities while the celebration would climax with a Banquet in honour of the founding members.

Tagged ”An Evening with the Living Ancestors”, the gathering according to the statement is planned in appreciation of the twelve patriotic Ibibio sons for their vision in giving birth to MMI 35 years ago.

It would also provide an opportunity for the founding members to unwind, relax and relish the teething years of the organisation with family, friends and associates.
