The Nigeria of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, has called on the Police on during her and other security agents to unleash stiff sanctions on perpetrators of cyber bullying and harassment of female journalists in the cause of discharging their duties

NAWOJ made this call in a Communique signed by Comrade A, Chairperson, Anna Daniel and Comrade Gloria Josiah, Assistant Secretary issued at the end of the August Congress held on August 13, 2022 at NUJ FCT Council Secretariat, Utako , Abuja.

Worried by the incessant harassments and cyber bullying of female journalists in recent times, the association tasked the police and other security agencies to ensure that the full weight of law is brought on people harassing journalists and cyber bullies as enshrined in the constitution to serve as deterrent to others.

Speaking on the state of the Nation, the NAWOJ FCT condemned the prolonged industrial strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, which has led to the long stay of at home of the teeming university students
who are now idle and vulnerable and have become easy and negative tools in the politicians as the 2023 elections approaches.
The association therefore called on the government to be proactive in its effort to resolve the issues so that students can resume lectures.
