Benue 10th Assembly Suspends Four Members For Disrupting House Proceedings

Benue State House of Assembly on Thursday, suspended four members for three months for disrupting smooth running of the legislative session of the house.

The suspended members include; Hon Solomon Gyila, representing Gwer West Constituency, Hon Douglas Akya, representing Makurdi South, Hon Dyako Ashwa, member representing Konshisha State Constituency, and Hon Anthony Agom of Okpokwu State constituency, respectively.

The motion for suspension was moved by the Majority Leader of the house, Hon Saater Tiseer, and was seconded by, Hon Peter Ipusu, of Katsina-Ala West constituency.

In another development, the Benue State House of Assembly during plenary confirmed, Governor Hyacinth Alia’s nominees for Local Government Caretaker Committees.

In the voice question put by the Speaker, Hon Aondona Dajo, the house confirmed twenty one (21) nominees.
Meanwhile, two members failed. Those who were nominated from Agatu and Oju Local Governments were dropped by the Assembly over failure to meet the requirements.
