**Tobi Amusan Opts Out of World Indoor Championships**

By Daniel Edu

Tobi Amusan, the world record hurdler, has decided to skip the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, scheduled for this weekend. Amusan, the only Nigerian to win a world championship in track and field, has been excluded from Nigeria’s final entry for the tournament. The 26-year-old athlete, who set two African indoor records in the 60-meter hurdles earlier this season, has chosen to use this period for preparation for upcoming major tournaments. Amusan is expected to participate in the African Games scheduled to take place in Ghana from March 8 to 23, 2024. Despite Amusan’s absence, Ese Brume remains Nigeria’s hope for a medal in the competition. Brume, a 28-year-old athlete, will be the sole female representative from Nigeria in Glasgow.
