As Eid-el Kabir is fast approaching, people in Kano state are still able to purchase rams and other animals for their festivals despite the economic situation that is becoming a threat to Nigerians.
Our correspondent who visited some local markets in the state reported that rams and other animals including livestocks remained expensive but affordable.
Most of the livestocks dealers that had a chat with Daybreak Nigeria at Badume local market said that there is patronage in the markets where many buyers were seen troopings into the market purchasing different sizes of animals according to their ability.
Malam Magaji Santa who sells rams disclosed that although there is an economic challenge people are trying their best to buy one or two rams which indicates that the financial issues is not becoming a threat to prepare for the Sallah festivities as an annual event.
He emphasizes that ” we are witnessing patronage from people of all categories, and everyone can afford to buy a livestock here at Badume Market and at an affordable price for Sallah gestivals, and i am using this opportunity to commend the people for purchasing rams here at Badume market according to their wallet”. He concluded.
The price of rams started from 60, 80, 100-350 thousands while goats and other small ruminant ranges from 40, 50 to 70 thousands while other animals like guinea fowl, hen, duck and agric breeds were sold at 3000,5000, 8000 to 12 thousand naira respectively.
