The Bank of Industry (BOI) has donated 2,400 cartons of food items to the Sokoto State Government as part of its initiative to alleviate the hardship faced by Nigerians.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu received the donation and expressed his gratitude to BOI for the significant contribution. He noted that the gesture would greatly support both federal and state government efforts to ensure food availability for citizens, particularly those in need.

Governor Aliyu remarked, “What BOI has done here demonstrates its patriotism and commitment to humanity. I commend you for this noble act.”

In a statement, Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Bawa, encouraged other private organizations and corporate entities in the state to follow BOI’s example. He also affirmed the state government’s willingness to collaborate with the Bank of Industry to enhance trade and commerce for the benefit of both the state and the bank.

Governor Aliyu also praised President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to mitigate the current economic difficulties and expressed confidence in an improvement soon.

Sokoto State Commissioner for Commerce, Haruna Abbas, highlighted that the donation aligns with the state government’s palliative measures and commended BOI for their foresight.

Zonal Manager of BOI, Habiba Ismaila Sambawa, explained that the donation is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility. She emphasized that the food items are intended to complement government efforts in addressing the current economic challenges and assisting the less-privileged.

The event was attended by top government officials.
