The Speaker of the , Rt. Hon. , has extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Kano State and the state government following the fire outbreak at the popular Singa Market.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday and signed by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai.
Falgore described the incident as devastating and unfortunate, noting that goods and properties worth billions of naira were destroyed in the inferno.
“It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that, on behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, we extend our sympathies to the victims, their families, and everyone affected by the fire incident,” he said.
The Speaker urged members of the business community and residents to remain steadfast and to give maximum support to emergency personnel in their continued efforts to manage the aftermath of the outbreak.
He commended the prompt intervention of firefighters and security agencies, noting that their timely response helped in tackling the situation.
Falgore also called on relevant authorities to urgently provide modern firefighting equipment to prevent and effectively contain similar incidents in the future.
“On behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, we pray for resilience, succour, and strength for all those affected by this tragic incident,” he concluded.
