President Muhammadu Buhari was conspicuously absent as former President Goodluck Jonathan launched his book detailing his “transition hours” after the 2015 general elections.
Although Jonathan and Buhari enjoy a healthy relationship, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SSG), Boss Mustapha, stood in for the President.
Buhari had in an earlier birthday felicitation described Jonathan as an exemplary personality for Nigerian youths.
According to President Buhari, Jonathan remains an inspiration to every young Nigerian of the possibilities that await anyone willing to learn, work hard and participate in making the country great.
The President, who had spoken through his Media Aide, Femi Adesina, had also congratulated Jonathan on the publishing of his memoir, My Transition Hours, which is being launched as part of ceremonies marking his 61st birthday.
He had equally encouraged Nigerians to follow the same example of sharing their experiences in writing.
“President Buhari prays that the Almighty God will strengthen Dr. Jonathan, grant him long life and bless his family,” Adesina stated.
