The state’s Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdurrahaman who disclosed this while addressing journalists Monday said :

“I am glad to brief you today on the most recent break through made by the Kaduna State Police Command in its relentless and vigorous fight against crime and criminality in the state. You will recall that we have showcased some successes two weeks ago when we paraded about 27 suspected criminals and several exhibits recovered during investigations. All the suspects paraded have been prosecuted accordingly.

“Today, I am pleased to inform you that the Command within the last few days has succeeded in arresting 14 criminal suspects and recovered 5 Motor Vehicles among other items. The suspects are as follows; three (3) suspects for Criminal Conspiracy, Kidnapping and Being in Possession of Firearms, Three (3) Suspects in Connection to Criminal Conspiracy, Kidnapping, Culpable Homicide, Theft and Receiving Stolen Property, another Three (3) Suspects for Criminal Conspiracy, Armed Robbery and Having in Possession of Motor Vehicle Suspected Stolen and five (5) suspects in connection to Criminal Conspiracy and Being in Possession of Dried Leaves Suspected to be Cannabis Sativa ( Indian Hemp) respectively”, he said.

According to the CP, they also arrested one found with a Large quantity of dried leaves, Suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.

“The suspects have confessed to various roles they played in the commission of the respective crimes they are being alleged and will be arraigned in court of competent jurisdiction on completion of investigations. I want to reassure the good people of Kaduna state that the Command will continue to be alive to its responsibility to ensure that crime is brought to the barest minimum. I also want to use this medium to remind members of the public that processions or demonstrations of all kinds still remained banned in Kaduna state. Thus, the Police and other law enforcement agencies will not hesitate to deal with any person or group of persons who seek to violate this lawful order. The law will be brought to bear heavily on any group of persons that carry out any procession without fear or favour.

Similarly, I am appealing to political stakeholders in the state to continue to play the game by the rule and to avoid hate speech during campaign rallies. They must also desist from using youths as thugs so as to ensure violence-free elections in 2019. I wish to assure the good people of Kaduna state that the Command has made adequate security arrangements to ensure a hitch-free Christmas and New Year celebrations”.
