Gov Oyetola gets accolades for promoting education

The President, St. Charles’ Grammar School Old Boys Association, Mr. Rotimi Aluko has praised Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State for the reversal of some of the Education policies and inclusion of stakeholders in the upliftment of schools in the state.

Aluko while making this commendation in his speech delivered at the 40th anniversary of the founder’s day of the 1981 set of St. Charles’ Grammar School, Osogbo, said the decision of Governor Oyetola’s led administration to reverse some education policies is a good omen for the promotion of education sectors in the state.

While speaking on the efforts of the old boys association, the President informed that, the association has keyed into the e-learning process as its going to add value to the lives of the pupils, stressing that the e-learning process will start with three set of classes as all equipments needed have been made available.

In his own remark, the General Manager, Osun State Water Corporation, Engr. Ademola Fatola used the medium to appreciate all the old students for their unflinching support towards the development of their school.

According to Engr Fatola, who described the partnership that exists between major education stakeholders and the state government as a positive one which is yielding positive results in the state’s education sector, the incumbent administration in Osun will not relent in pursuing people oriented programmes that will transform the life of the entire citizens in the state.

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Education, Hon. Jamiu Olawumi has called on philanthropist and other stakeholders on education to join hands together with the current administration in its efforts to turn around the fortunes of education sector in the state.

The Special Adviser while speaking at the occasion, described the Old Boys Association of the school as exemplary through their zeal and commitment to build a technology hub which will aid teaching and learning process, stressing that the hub which is valued at #14m will be delivered in three months.

The Special Adviser stated that old students associations that hitherto alienated by the policy of the immediate past government have made tremendous contributions to infrastructure upgrade and provision of soft contents including sponsorship of private teachers to assist government.

Alhaji Jamiu Olawumi added that the alumni of the school’s initiative to build technological hub was a testimony of the potent support lost by the last administration that could have assisted the in job of providing sound education and support for teachers

While appreciating the Old Boys Association, 1981 set for the huge development which they are about to bring to the school, the Cabinet member advised the present students to emulate them, be focused and never fail to listen to positive instructions.

In her welcome address, the Principal, St. Charles’ Grammar School, Mrs. Onaolapo Durosomo congratulated everyone connected with the school in anyway as they have all become proud ambassadors of the school.

Highlights of the event was the presentation of ICT materials to the school in commemoration of the the founder’s day and the exhibition of innovated materials by an old student of the school, Adewale Temitope who is now an under graduate at the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
