Real Sociedad Eye January Move for AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze

By  Milcah  Tanimu

Spanish club Real Sociedad are considering a January move for AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze, potentially offering him a return to La Liga.

The Nigerian international joined Milan from Villarreal in 2023 for €28 million but has struggled to secure a starting spot. Injuries and the impressive form of Christian Pulisic have limited his impact.

Despite flashes of brilliance, including a dramatic winner against Parma, Chukwueze’s future at Milan remains uncertain. Reports from Spain suggest that Real Sociedad are monitoring his situation as they seek attacking reinforcements.

Milan are open to selling the 25-year-old but will only consider permanent offers. The club has reportedly set an asking price between €13 million and €18 million to avoid a financial loss.

Chukwueze, under contract until 2028 with a €4 million annual salary, could be offloaded to give Milan financial flexibility. The Rossoneri have already shown interest in Bologna’s Riccardo Orsolini, further hinting at Chukwueze’s possible exit.

A move to Sociedad would see Chukwueze return to Spain, where he enjoyed success at Villarreal, winning the Europa League in 2021. His standout 2022-23 season, with 13 goals and 11 assists, earned him his Milan transfer.

Currently competing in the Europa League, Sociedad believe Chukwueze’s pace and dribbling ability would boost their attack. While no official bid has been made, developments are expected soon. If Milan accept an offer, Chukwueze’s Serie A stint could end after just 18 months.
