Kaduna NYSC Coordinator Seeks Increase in Corps Members’ Feeding, Monthly Allowances

The Kaduna State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza, has renewed calls for an increase in feeding allowances during orientation camps and monthly state stipends for corps members.

She made the appeal on Tuesday during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course held at the NYSC temporary orientation camp at Government College, Kaduna.According to Dadaza, the request is aimed at improving the welfare of corps members serving in the state.

She commended the corps members for their discipline and resilience during the three-week orientation exercise and urged them to contribute positively at their places of primary assignment. “Wherever you are posted, settle in promptly and strive to make a meaningful contribution to the people and institutions you will serve,” she said.

Dadaza also encouraged corps members to participate actively in Community Development Service projects to create lasting impacts in their host communities.In a speech delivered on behalf of Uba Sani by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Gloria Ibrahim, the governor reaffirmed the state government’s support for the NYSC scheme.

He urged corps members to accept their postings in good faith, particularly in rural communities where their services are needed in education and healthcare.The governor also encouraged them to take advantage of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme to develop practical and entrepreneurial skills.
