CAF President Praises Nigeria, South Africa, and Morocco for Historic Women’s World Cup Achievement

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigeria, South Africa, and Morocco for their impressive performance in the ongoing 2023 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia. These three African nations have secured their places in the round of 16, marking a historic moment for women’s football in the continent.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons exhibited their prowess with two draws and a win, securing the second spot in Group B, while South Africa and Morocco also demonstrated their skill and determination by finishing second in their respective groups. This achievement is the first time in the Women’s World Cup history that Africa will have three representatives in the knockout stage.

Speaking about this significant advancement for African football, President Patrice Motsepe lauded the three teams for their outstanding performances and well-deserved qualification to the round of 16. He stated that CAF and its 54 member nations extend their congratulations to the Women’s Teams of Nigeria, Morocco, and South Africa, and he emphasized the immense pride these achievements bring to their respective countries and the entire African continent.

President Motsepe expressed confidence in the bright future of women’s football in Africa, attributing it to the victories and successes of the Nigerian, Moroccan, and South African women’s teams. He believes that these accomplishments will contribute significantly to the development and growth of women’s football across the continent.

In conclusion, CAF conveyed its best wishes to the Nigerian, Moroccan, and South African women’s football teams for their upcoming matches in the round of 16. South Africa is set to face the Netherlands on Sunday, the Super Falcons will meet England on Monday, and Morocco will take on France on Tuesday. The whole continent eagerly anticipates their performances and hopes for their continued success in the tournament.
