UDUS To Graduate About 23,000 Graduands Next Week

Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto is to present 22,932 graduating students during a combined convocation scheduled for Monday to Saturday this week.

According to the Vice Chancellor,18,644 graduands will receive Bachelor’s degree ,diplomas and certificates in different disciplines.

He said 18,217 students will receive Bachelor’s Degrees while 427 will receive Diplomas certificates.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Lawal Suleiman Bilbis while briefing newsmen at the Senate Chambers, Ahmadu Bello House disclosed that combined 38th,39th,40th,and 41st said the convocation ceremony will hold on Monday.

He similarly, stated that the remaining 4,288 graduating students will receive various certificates of higher degrees and postgraduate diplomas .

“Of this number,296 will receive Doctorate degrees,1322 Masters Degrees, while 2,670 will receive post – Graduate Diplomas in their relevant programmes.”

“In addition,Students will receive various prizes for their execellent and outstanding performance in their chosen disciplines”.

Bilbis stated that it is gratifying to note that 167 students graduated with first class, 3,486 with second class- upper,9573 with second class- lower and 15 graduated with a pass degree in their respective programmes

According to him,the remaining 1,199 students are from programmes such as Veterinary Medicine,MBBS,Nursing among whose degrees are not classified .

He said the University is processing award of honorary degrees to some personalities and professor Emeritus respectively .

The VC further said a lecture on the topic “Navigating the Maze:Addressing Multi-Dimensional Insecurity Challenges in Northern Nigeria”, would be delivered by the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu on Thursday.
