Again, Multichoice Raises DStv, GOtv Subscription Prices

Once again, Multichoice Nigeria Limited, the pay-TV operator, has announced an increase in the prices of its DStv and GOtv packages, effective from May 1, 2024.

The company cited a “rise in the cost of business operations” in Nigeria as the reason behind the price adjustments. According to a notice signed by Multichoice CEO, John Ugbe, and circulated to subscribers via email, the Premium package on DStv will now cost N37,000 monthly, up from the current N29,500 subscription fee.

Similarly, the Compact+ bouquet will see an increase to N25,000 from N19,800 monthly. Subscribers on the Compact bouquet will now pay N15,700 instead of the current N12,500, while those on the Confam package will pay N9,300, compared to N7,400.

Under the new price regime, viewers on the DStv Yanga bouquet will pay N5,100 for monthly subscription, up from N4,200, while Padi subscribers will now pay N3,600 instead of the current N2,950.

HDPVR Access subscribers will see their subscription fee rise to N5,000 from N4,000.

For GOtv users, the Supa Plus package will now cost N15,700, up from N12,500, while the Supa bouquet will increase to N9,600 from N7,600. GOtv Max subscription has been adjusted to N7,200 from N5,700, and the Jolli package will now be priced at N4,850, up from N3,950.

Multichoice also announced that customers on the lowest GOtv package, Jinja, will now pay N3,300 monthly, compared to N2,700. Users of Smallie package will pay N1,575 as against N1,300.

This latest price increase marks the third time Multichoice has raised its subscription fees in the past year.
