Bandits Abduct Retired Army General, 8 Others in Katsina

Armed Bandits have reportedly attacked Tsiga village in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State and kidnapped a former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, retired Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga and eight others.

Reliable sources from the community disclosed this to Radio Nigeria Zonal office in separate interviews in confidence, adding that the police are yet to confirm the incident.

An eye witness narrated how the bandits in their dozens stormed the community on motorcycles at twelve midnight and immediately started searching for their targets.

“The streets were empty because it was already around 12 midnight, once they disembarked from the bikes, they started flashing torchlights to locate the houses of their targets in the town.

“About a dozen of them stormed Brigadier Tsiga’s house, the other kidnapped people were also targeted because the kidnappers went straight to their houses”, he said.

The reports added that Tsiga community has been attacked several times by armed bandits in the last seven years.
