Mr Jacob Ajegana-Kudu, a Chieftain of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nassarawa Eggon East constituency, on Monday, promised to continue to empower youths, widows, orphans and the less-privileged in Nassarawa State in 2020.

Ajegana-Kudu made this pledge while speaking with newsmen after receiving stakeholders and ADC members from the constituency who paid him a courtesy visit in Akun, Nassarawa state.

According to him, the gesture is aimed at improving their standard of living and enabling them to contribute their own quota towards the development of the state.

“I have assured ADC members, coordinators from the seven electoral wards of Eggon East constituency and other stakeholders who visited me that I will continue to empower the youths, widows and other less-privileged to improve their standard of living.

“I have been doing a lot in the area of empowerment, such as disbursement of interest-free loans to youths, distribution of motorcycles, vehicles,  Keke Napep and sewing machines. We will still continue the gesture this year.

“We are also assisting many students with school fees, the sick ones with money and many others with various challenges in order to let them have sense of belonging.

“Just to ensure that those in my Ogba community celebrated the Christmas and New Year with joy, wrappers and food items were distributed to about 150 widows in the community,” he said.

Ajegana-Kudu advised ADC members to remain focused in the interest of the party.

He called on the people of the constituency to continue to live peacefully and tolerate one another, irrespective of their religious or political affiliations, adding that peace was necessary for development to thrive.

Ajegana-Kudu was the 2019 candidate for the Nasarawa Eggon East state constituency. (NAN)
