Transfer Decision: Romelu Lukaku Expresses Appreciation for Roma Fans’ Support

By  Milcah  Tanimu

Romelu Lukaku, the talented Belgian footballer, has expressed his gratitude towards the dedicated support he has received from the fans of Roma in recent days.

Having left Chelsea to join Roma on loan, Lukaku conveyed his enthusiasm for his new journey at the club. This marks his first public statement since the transfer.

The prolific striker, renowned for his stints at Everton, Manchester United, and Inter Milan, addressed the media on Thursday.

Following a loan spell with Inter Milan during the previous season, Lukaku aimed to secure a permanent position at the club this summer. However, the deal could not come to fruition.

Notably, Juventus also pursued his signature, yet negotiations with Chelsea did not reach a successful conclusion.

Reflecting on his new venture, Lukaku shared, “The warm welcome I’ve received from this club and its fans has ignited my excitement and has further motivated me to dedicate myself fully to my new team.”

Having experienced the atmosphere of the Stadio Olimpico as an opposing player, Lukaku acknowledged the fervent passion of the Romanisti (Roma supporters). He expressed his delight in becoming a part of this dynamic environment. He also revealed that he recently engaged in discussions with the club owners, which left him impressed by their ambitions.

Lukaku concluded by emphasizing the importance of hard work, humility, and incremental progress. He eagerly anticipates contributing both on and off the field, expressing his readiness to integrate into the team and embrace the challenges ahead.
