FG Empowers Farmers with Grinding Machines to Improve Their Living Standards

By Noah Ocheni, Lokoja

In a positive move towards enhancing the livelihood of farmers in Kogi State, the federal government, on Tuesday in Lokoja, presented 15 grinding machines to farmers from all three senatorial districts.

This initiative was executed through the Kogi State Agricultural Development Project, with the support of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture’s Department of Rural Development. Alhaji Halilu Biringina Kulani, representing the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, presided over the presentation in Lokoja.

The beneficiaries of these agricultural inputs were carefully selected from all three Senatorial Districts within the state.

Alhaji Kolani, the representative from the Ministry of Agriculture in Abuja, emphasized the commitment of the current administration under President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Agriculture to meet the expectations of the farming community. He stated that the government would continue to provide necessary agricultural inputs to bolster agricultural production.

Alhaji Kolani encouraged the beneficiaries of the grinding machines to utilize them effectively, highlighting that the government’s support would grow as they make the most of these resources. He reiterated the Federal Government’s dedication to ensuring food security and improving the quality of life for the nation’s citizens.

Mr. Bello Ogirima, the Managing Director of the Agricultural Development Project, cautioned the beneficiaries to safeguard the machines provided by the Federal Government to prevent any vandalism. He assured the farming community that both state and federal governments are fully committed to encouraging farmers and increasing food production in the state. Mr. Ogirima commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his efforts in promoting food security, particularly in the cultivation of crops such as rice, cassava, yams, cashew, and others in the state.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Madam Awal Abdulkadir expressed gratitude to both the state and federal governments for empowering farmers and pledged to use the machines for their intended purpose.
