Kidnapped Lagos PDP chairman regains freedom

Philip Aivoji, the abducted chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has regained his freedom four days after being kidnapped by unidentified gunmen along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Aivoji, along with other party leaders, was abducted at the Ogere area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while returning from the party’s Stakeholders’ Zonal Caucus meeting in Ibadan, convened by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

The State Publicity Secretary, Hakeem Amode, announced Aivoji’s release in a brief statement issued around 1:15 am on Monday, expressing gratitude for prayers and highlighting the visible presence of God’s mercies throughout the ordeal.
