Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr said Nigeria has the potential to reach the last eight of the FIFA World Cup in 2022, but the team must continue to work harder.
Rohr was appointed in 2016 after the Super Eagles failed to qualify for back-to-back CAF Africa Cup of Nations in 2015 and 2017 respectively.
However, the German was able to help the West African giants qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and also finished third at the 2019 CAF African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Rohr later signed a new deal with the Nigeria Football Federation that will see remain in charge of the team for the Mundial in Qatar and one of the targets set for him, is taking the three-time African champions beyond the round of 16.
In a conversation with FIFA.com, Rohr spoke about his desire to take Nigeria to the quarter-final for the first time but admitted there is plenty of work to be done.
Meanwhile, Rohr will lead the Super Eagles out for the first time since 2019 when they take on Tunisian and Algeria in high profile warn up games next month in Austria.
